Fruitcake Cookies
On the 10th day of the 25 Days of Cookies, I bring you fruitcake cookies!! I know, I know – fruitcake can be kind of gross. But let me tell you, these cookies are SO good. Candied cherries, dates and nuts come together to make a festive cookie that will give you all the best fruitcake has to offer! I mean, don’t they look soo yummy?!
Fruitcake Cookies
Candied cherries, dates and nuts come together in a holiday cookie that is sure to make spirits bright
Ingredients
- 1 ⅔ cups flour
- 1 cup butter soft
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 3 tbsp buttermilk
- ½ tsp vanilla
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ tsp baking soda
- 1 ½ cups dates
- 8 oz candied cherries
- ½ cup dried cranberries
- ½ cup pecans
- ½ cup walnuts
- 1 tbsp lemon zest
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F
- Cream butter and sugar
- Add egg, buttermilk and vanilla
- Add flour, salt and baking soda
- Fold in fruit, lemon zest and nuts
- Bake for 13-15 minutes, until edges start to brown
