Brownies

These are THE best brownies. If you like cake like brownies, these are not the brownies for you. These brownies are super fudgy, with chunks of chocolate both on top and in between! I also like to add festive sprinkles to the top to help celebrate whatever season we are in. How cute are they?! Also – I am also so obsessed with the patriotic Nora Fleming minis – especially this little star. So cute.

Ingredients
  

  • ¾ cup butter
  • cup sugar
  • ¾ cup cocoa
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ¾ cup flour
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • ¼ cup bittersweet chocolate chips
  • sprinkles optional, for topping
  • 1/4 tsp espresso powder optional

Instructions
 

  • preheat oven to 350 °F
  • melt butter and then remove from heat
  • add sugar to butter and stir to combine
  • at this point, I always transfer mixture to mixer but you can also use a hand beater or mix by hand
  • add cocoa powder and espresso powder then beat until combined
  • slowly add eggs – mixing well between each egg
  • add vanilla
  • add flour and beat until all are combined
  • fold in ¾ of the semisweet chocolate chips and the bittersweet chips
  • pour mixture into prepared baking pan (I usually use 8×8) then sprinkle with rest of chocolate chips and sprinkles if you are feeling festive
  • bake 25-30 minutes until sides of brownies are starting to pull away from the sides of the baking dish
