Muffuletta

Another NOLA favorite is the muffuletta, which is a sandwhich loaded with lots of meats, cheeses and an olive spread. Another Louisiana native in my group, Ketan, brought one into lunch last week and inspired this version of the classic NOLA sandwich.

Ingredients

  

• 1 loaf Italian bread usually round
• 8 slices genoa salami
• 8 slices mortadella
• 8 slices capocollo
• 8 slices mild provolone
• 8 slices mozzarella
• 1/4 cup olive oil
• 1 tsp garlic minced
• olive salad

Instructions

 

• mix olive oil and garlic
• slice Italian bread in half
• using a pastry brush, brush olive oil on both sides
• layer meats and cheese, then top with olive salad
