13 Nights of Halloween: Night 9

I have the coolest recipe (courtesy of IG Reels) for you for this 9th day of the 13 Nights of Halloween!! Poison apples with healthy caramel dip! The poison apples are from @oliveandartisan and the healthy caramel dip is from one of my favorite fitness bloggers @rachaelsgoodeats! These two are absolute geniuses and together they have created one of my favorite spooky snacks!

Poison Apples and Healthy Caramel Dip

Cuisine 13 Nights of Halloween

Ingredients
  

Poison Apples

  • apples sliced
  • 30 oz cold water
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • ¼ cup butterfly pea powder
  • ice cubes

Caramel Dip

  • cups dates
  • 3 tbsp hot water
  • ½ tsp flaked salt
  • splash vanilla

Instructions
 

  • Make the apples by adding the pea powder and lemon juice to the cold water and mixing well
  • Add apples to the mix then add the ice cubes
  • Refrigerate for 2 hours, stirring every 30 minutes
  • While apples are in the fridge, make the caramel by pouring enough hot water over the dates until all the dates are covered
  • Let dates sit for 20 minutes then drain
  • Add dates, 3 tbsp hot water and vanilla to a food processor or blender and blend until smooth
  • Stir in flaked salt
  • When apples are done, remove from water and dry well
  • Serve with caramel for a healthy, spooky snack!
