Sweet Cornbread
I LOVE cornbread, especially when it is sweet and cake like. This restaurant in Chapel Hill used to have the BEST cornbread ever. It was basically cornbread cake and it is probably one of my favorite foods. Unfortunately, the chef that made it retired and it is no longer the same. This sweet cornbread is not quite the same, but it is pretty close!

Sweet and simple cornbread
Ingredients
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 3 cups flour
- 1 ¼ cups sugar
- 2 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- ⅔ cup vegetable oil
- ⅓ cup melted butter
- 3 tbsp honey
- 2 ½ cups milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F
- Combine all gently
- Pour into large cast iron skillet or 9×13 dish
- Bake 45 minutes
