Grandma Bray’s Ham Balls
Can y’all believe it is a week before Easter!? If you are looking for a star appetizer for your Easter dinner, let me introduce you to a Bray family hit – ham balls!! These little cuties are half ham, half pork and they are covered in a sweet glaze that will knock your socks off.
Ham Balls
These ham balls are half ham, half pork and they are covered in a sweet glaze that will knock your socks off!!
Ingredients
- 2 lb ground ham
- 1 lb ground pork
- 3 cups crushed crackers
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 5 tbsp flour
- 1 tsp dry mustard
- 4 tsp vinegar
- ⅔ cup corn syrup
- 1¼ cups water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°F
- Mix ham, pork, crackers, eggs and milk together and form balls.
- Bake uncovered for 1 hour.
- Make glaze by combining brown sugar, flour, vinegar, dry mustard, corn syrup and water then bring to a boil.
- Let glaze boil for 1 minute then pour over ham balls.
- If ham balls are on the large size, let bake for 20-30 more minutes. Otherwise for normal sized balls, bake for 2 minutes longer.
