13 Nights of Halloween: Night 9
On the 9th night of the 13 Nights of Halloween, I bring you: Halloween Pizza! These pizzas use the greek yogurt dough (seriously so obsessed with it) and are cut into festive little Halloween shapes using cookie cutters!
Halloween Pizza
personal pizzas in fun, festive shapes
Ingredients
Pizza Dough
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 cup fat free plain greek yogurt
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
Pizza Sauce
- 28 oz San Marzano tomatoes crushed
- 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 1/4 cup onion diced
- 1/2 tsp fresh garlic minced
- 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 3 tbsp basil dried
- salt
- pepper
Pizza Toppings
- 1 ball fresh mozzarella cheese sliced
- turkey pepperoni (or regular pepperoni)
- other pizza toppings you like
Instructions
Pizza Sauce
- Start making the pizza sauce by sautéing onion in olive oil
- When onions are translucent, add garlic
- Then add tomatoes and seasonings (except basil)
- Reduce sauce down to desired consistency (I like my sauce fairly thick) then add basil. Salt and pepper to taste
Pizza Dough
- Mix together dry ingredients and then add greek yogurt
- Roll out dough (it will be very sticky so make sure the surface and tops are well floured)
- Cut dough into fun Halloween shapes using large cookie cutters
Pizzas
- Preheat oven to 500°F with pizza stone in oven
- Brush pizza dough tops with olive oil
- When oven is heated, cook dough until firm (~12 minutes for my cookie cutters but keep an eye on the dough as sizes do vary)
- Take dough out, flip over and assemble pizzas
- Brush olive oil around edges of pizza
- Cook ~ 7 more minutes – until cheese is melted
Notes
-The tomatoes come whole so you will have to take an immersion blender/regular blender/food processor to crush them
-Add whatever pizza toppings you like!
